Wishing You a Wonderful Day

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by lisaadd's gorgeous card, They Say It's Your Birthday, over at SCS (here).   I love Lisa's layout and decided to make the card as similar to hers as I could, using what I have in my supplies.

     The background is First Edition DSP (love that stuff!) and from what I can tell it's explaining the history of the type writer... interesting.   I ran Marina Mist CS through the Big Shot with the Lattice embossing folder before using the Stars #2 die to cut out the stars.  This gives them a bit of texture.
     I was going to use a different sentiment but after looking through my stamp sets I realized that this particular sentiment matched the "typewriter font" feel in the DSP.

Joy to the World!

Hello!  My favorite Christmas carol is Joy To the World so I was tickled pink when I saw Stampin' Up! used this as an inspiration for The Sounding Joy stamp set.  And of course, when I saw Renee Van Stralen's Follow the Recipe #18 card over at her blog Stamping for Sanity I knew I had to CASE it.  I absolutely loved her card so I decided to change very little.  This card was simple enough to create that I'm thinking I may just use this as my Christmas card this year!

A Square Quilt

      Hello!  Today's card is another version of a quilted card.  For this card I used the same colors and DSP as I did in my first but changed the size of the quilt squares.  On my last card I found the 3/4" squares were awfully difficult to cut and position and just wouldn't work well at a workshop.  So I decided to go with the smallest punch I have, a 1 1/4" square.  And because the squares were larger I also needed to increase the size of my card base to 5 1/2"x5 1/2" (will require extra postage).
     I cut out 9 squares of the Lap of Luxury DSP and 4 squares of the Pretty In Pink CS.  The pink CS was then cut in half with paper snips and layered on a square of DSP to create the pennant shape.  All squares were adhered to a piece of Concord Crush and run thru the Big Shot with the Lattice embossing folder.

Inspired Vintage

     Hello! Today's card was inspired by nitestamper's card over at SplitCoastStampers. While Chat's card is absolutely gorgeous I was looking to simplify her card just a bit.

     To make it more of my own I chose to change the colors slightly (I used Pear Pizazz, Garden Green and Rich Razzleberry) and tweaked the layout just a tiny bit.

     I must give credit where credit is due.  I sat for quite some time deciding wether or not to add the first layer of Whisper White over the Pear Pizazz.  Aaron came into my crafting "studio", saw me pondering and without a second thought told me I should add the white layer.  And once I adhered all the layers I completely agree with him!  Maybe he has a future in stamping!

Bean Bags!

     Hello!  Today's project was inspired by Kay Sha's ADORABLE little designer totes over at Creations on Paper.  If you're not familiar with Kay she is a genius with paper and has created some beautiful works of art.  The second I saw these totes on Kay's blog I knew I just had to make one - they are so stinkin' cute!  Kay calls hers "Designer Totes" but I like to call mine "Bean Bags" after the famous Maine company whose bag these resemble.  Head over to Kay's blog and click on the "Designer Tote" link on the right side to purchase her tutorial.

   Over the past few weeks I've made quite a few of these and I think I may be addicted!  This Rich Razzleberry one was made as "recruiting gift" for a potential new stamp club group member.  Ummmmm, ok.  Let's be honest and call it what it really was - a bribe!!  I mean, it was filled with Hershey chocolates and who can say no to any question when presented with chocolate first?!
