Pinwheel Thank You

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by Rita Wright's Pinwheel card over at SCS (here).  I loved everything about her card and decided to CASE it using the supplies I had in my stamping room.  The pinwheel is such a great addition to the Sizzlits family and was so happy to see it in the Spring Catalog (even more happy to see that it was $4.95)!  This is definitely a quick and simple card that would impress any recipient!

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by inkpad's Papillon Sketch over at SCS (here).  I loved her layout but decided to go with the traditional 4 1/4"x 5 1/2" size card rather than her square card.  Using what I had in my stamp room I decided to go with the Beautiful Wings embosslit rather than the Papillon Potpourri butterfly stamp.

Butterfly Trio

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by Susie Nelson's "Trio of First" card over at SCS (here).  I loved the simplicity of her layout and decided to change very little.  Using what I had in my stamp room I swapped out the Elegant Butterfly punch for the Beautiful Wings embosslit and added a few pearls to the center of each butterfly.

Sparkly Snowflake

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by bon2stamp's card over at SCS (here).  I {loved} everything about Bonnie's card and decided to add just a bit of color to my snowflake with Primrose Petal classic ink.  This card was quick and simple to make (I'm seeing a pattern with my last three posts!) and would make a great winter birthday card.

Winter Birthday

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by a card in the Nov/Dec issue of Stampin' Success (a publication for SU! demos).  You probably already know that Stampin' Up's Glimmer Paper is a hassle-free way to include glitter in your projects - without the mess of traditional glitter.  But you may not know that you can color the silver Glimmer Paper to match any project!
     Simply use a sponge dauber to apply your favorite Classic Stampin' Ink.  If you're in  a hurry you can speed up the drying process by setting the color with a heat tool.  
     I didn't order the Snow Flurry Bigz die from the Holiday catalog this past season and instead used what I had in my craft room, retired Snowflakes Sizzlits.

     Hello!  Today's card was one that was made out of scraps.  I cut out too many leaves and had a bit of extra ribbon laying around and couldn't bear to throw any of it out.
     In place of the Leaves #2 die, which is retired, you could use the Autumn Accents Bigz Die from the Holiday Catalog.

          Hello!  Today's card was inspired by Heather Klump's "Wish Big" card over at her blog Downstairs Designs (here).  I loved her layout and decided to only change the colors and stamp set.  I added a few rhinestone jewels for a little bling.
     Is anyone else bummed that SU retired the Stars #2 die?  As a demo I have access to the retiring stamp and accessories list before customers do but I have to admit that I missed this item on the last list... I absolutely {love} that die!

     Hello!  Don't you just {love} it when you find a card that's perfect?!  That's what happened when I stumbled upon Jen Sannes card over at her blog, Simple and Sincere (here).  I loved her layout and I loved her colors so the only thing I changed was the stamp sets.
     It's hard to tell from the first photo but the Basic Gray card stock is dry embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder.

A Top Note Thanksgiving

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by mamamostamps' "Day of Thanks" card over at SCS (here).  I've seen this layout/technique before but have never tried it.  In fact, I've had the Top Note Bigz die sitting, unopened, in my storage box for at least a year (gasp!).  So when I found Maureen's card I knew it was time to try both!
     I cut strips of Orchard Harvest DSP slightly larger than the die and adhered them to white card stock.  I then ran that through the Big Shot.

Watercolor Winter

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by tessa's Elegant Christmas Card over at SCS (here).  This card has been sitting in my "favorites" folder at SCS for almost a year.  I loved everything about Tessa's card and the instant I saw Watercolor Winter stamp set in the Holiday mini I knew that would be the perfect set for this card!

     For a little drama I used the Big Shot and the Finial Press embossing folder for a layer behind the image.  Unfortunately, Finial Press is now retired but the Lacy Brocade folder on page 6 of the Holiday mini would be a beautiful replacement.  I should note that I turned the embossed card stock over so you see the debossed image.  I also added a little Crystal Effects to the leaves and berries to make them pop.

A Starfilled Thank You

      Hello!  Today's card was inspired by Kay Kalthoff's graduation card over at her blog Stamping to Share (here).  This card was incredibly easy to make but has such a 'wow' factor that any recipient would be honored to receive it.
     The stars were cut from a 4 1/8"x5 3/8" piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock, simply center the card stock on the die and run through the Big Shot.  The card stock is then adhered to the base of the card with dimensionals.
     I created quite a few of these as thank you cards for classroom volunteers (I love volunteers!) but just imagine the stars cut out of Night of Navy... wouldn't these make great 4th of July BBQ invites or  Memorial Day/Veteran's Day cards?!

Gingham Watermelon

     Hello!  Today's card is a CASE of Erica Cerwin's "Thanks" card over at her blog Pink Buckaroo Designs (here).  I loved everything about her her card and decided not to change a thing (except for the sentiment).  To create the gingham background I used the gingham technique from Two Crafty Girls.
     The "thank you" banner was created using the new Bitty Banners Framelits die (pg 191, $14.95).  It's so much easier to create the banners with this amazing set of dies!
     This would make a great BBQ invite during the summer months, just substitute the sentiment for a "You're Invited" or something similar

Butterfly Wishes

     Hello!  On my "favorites" bar I have a folder where I bookmark cards that I want to CASE or I'm inspired by.  This card sat in that folder for almost a year and a half.  Today I thought it was about time I did something with it.
     Teneale Williams is an incredible source for inspiration.  If you haven't checked out her blog I highly recommend it, her cards a little pieces of art.  Anyhoo, "Inkspirations Challenge 39" was the inspiration for today's card (here).  I loved her colors but mostly I loved the way she stamped an image on the butterfly... something I hadn't thought of.

     Hello! This spring I'm in need of several graduation cards, one for a co-worker who just earned her M.Ed and the other for a cousin who is graduating from UNH. 
     I was inspired by Natasha and Leigha's "You're a Star" card over at their blog (here).  To make it more of my own I changed the colors of the stars and used a stamp from the SAB set, Sprinkled Expressions.  This card was quick and simple enough to make in large quantities (birthday, thank you, party invites).

Pocket Silhouettes Thank You

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by a card that's been sitting in my "Favorites" folder over at SCS for years. Seriously, years (here).  The little nudge I needed to actually make this card came from my Stampin' Up! upline and the monthly card challenges we host on Stampin' Connection (a website only available to SU demos, just one of the perks of working for SU!).

     Our challenge this month was a thank you card with embossing and at least one embellishment.  Immediately this card came to mind.  I changed the colors to reflect my current favorite (Calypso Coral) and chose a different sentiment.
     In case you're wondering, the embossed part of my card is the stripes!  I used Natasha's Gingham Background technique over at her blog Diary of Two Crafty Girls (here).

A Calypso Easel Card

     Hello!  Today's card is one that was inspired by Tui Nathan's Freshly Made Sketch #26 card (here).  I absolutely loved the colors she used and decided to make a few minor changes to the layout.
     The easel card was super easy to make, I just followed the directions given by Brian Pilling in the Stampin' Up video (here).  With all the dimensionals and layers, this card turned out to be a bit heavy.  If mailing one, I suggest having it weighed first before popping it in the mailbox!

Summer's On It's Way (I think)

     Hello!  Doesn't this card make you think of the 4th of July and a BBQ?  It was an interesting winter and spring here in New England and I don't know about you but I'm so ready for summer (how many days 'til summer vacation?).
     Today's card was inspired by summer and this wonderful new technique I found over at Diary of Two Crafty Girls (here). 

     Creating the stripes on my card was super easy!  Using a brayer, I inked up the stripes embossing folders with Cherry Cobbler ink (the side with the SU! logo) and ran it through the Big Shot.  How easy is that?!
     For a little sparkle I added Iridescent Ice embossing powder to the star. I think this would make a fabulous 4th of July BBQ invite... Mmm.... hamburgers and hotdogs on a grill, I can almost smell 'em!

Heart Trio

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #16 (here).  Have I mentioned how much I {love} that site?!

     I purchased both the small heart and postage stamp punches months ago but haven't touched them since Mr. Brown delivered them (gasp!).  So I thought I'd dust them off and put them to good use...  This is a quick and simple card to make, it took me less than 10 minutes total!

Wishing You a Wonderful Day

     Hello!  Today's card was inspired by lisaadd's gorgeous card, They Say It's Your Birthday, over at SCS (here).   I love Lisa's layout and decided to make the card as similar to hers as I could, using what I have in my supplies.

     The background is First Edition DSP (love that stuff!) and from what I can tell it's explaining the history of the type writer... interesting.   I ran Marina Mist CS through the Big Shot with the Lattice embossing folder before using the Stars #2 die to cut out the stars.  This gives them a bit of texture.
     I was going to use a different sentiment but after looking through my stamp sets I realized that this particular sentiment matched the "typewriter font" feel in the DSP.
